Photo Food Logging and Meal Planner

FitbyForm logs food three ways: a photo, a line of text or a barcode. It also plans your meals, writes the shopping list sorted by aisle, and gives you recipes in kitchen measures.

Three Ways to Log

  • Photo. Take a picture of your plate. The app identifies the food and the portion, and the calories come from USDA data.
  • Text. Type what you ate the way you would say it. It is matched against Open Food Facts and USDA data.
  • Barcode. Scan a package. The app checks Open Food Facts, then USDA branded foods, then your own pantry. If a product is missing, photograph its Nutrition Facts label.

Meal Planner

Put recipes on a day and a meal. When the meal comes around, the app asks whether you ate it, and a yes logs it for you.

Shopping List Sorted by Aisle

Your plan turns into one shopping list, with the same ingredient combined across recipes, portioned for your plan, and sorted by aisle.

Recipes in Kitchen Measures

Recipes use amounts you can actually measure or buy: cups and spoons, whole eggs, ounces of meat. Grams appear in brackets only where the app needs them. The recipe library has search, filters like 25 Min or Less and High Protein, and favorites.

Food Challenges

Logging is easier with friends. A few challenges built around it:
